AADR – Art Architecture Design Research is an English language imprint of Spurbuchverlag, an independent publishing house. The publishing division AADR goes international and acts completely independently.
In cooperation with universities, architects, artists and designers from all over the world, it produces sophisticated books, readers and magazines on research and practice in art, architecture, design and related fields in English and German. The AADR disseminates the relationship between creative projects and innovative theory, thought and action and is committed to producing printed publications of the highest quality. The authors and editors come from all over the world, from Finland to China, from the USA to New Zealand.
And the publishing house itself also goes international. They run from the headquarter in beautiful Würzburg, Germany, through the distribution center in Baunach, Germany, to Melbourne, Australia.
The editor of the AADR series, Prof. Dr. Rochus Urban Hinkel, is based in Melbourne. He is currently Associate Professor at the MSD, University of Melbourne. The architect (BDA), academic and curator has taught for several years at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and was professor at Konstfack Stockholm and OTH Regensburg.

AADR and its curatorial editor, Prof. Dr. Rochus Urban Hinkel, are supported by a Scientific Advisory Board and an Editorial Advisory Board, which include leading scientists and practitioners from around the world. AADR books are promoted worldwide and are available in specialist
bookstores and online. The entire program currently comprises over 50 book titles.
